Filter Queen Vacuums are, we think, the Rolls Royce of Vacuum
Cleaners. Our firm has been engaged and selling and repairing these excellent
machines throughout the NY/NJ Metropolitan area since 1956. Indeed, the Filter
Queen vacuum is the single product which brought Mr. Eardly T. Petersen - the
founder of The Eardly T. Petersen Company - into the floorcare business.
Since the mid-nineties the parent company of Filter Queen, HMI, has dropped the
Princess model. This leaves only the Majestic as the available machine. We
liked the Princess because it offered a 10-foot hose which was exceedingly
convenient. However, that hose is still available as an upgrade accessory for
the Majestic.
We should suggest here, balancing price and features, that, if you are
interested in a 1st quality vacuum, you consider the Miele vacuum. Miele is a
100-year old German appliance manufacturer and they, arguably, make the best
canister vacuums in the business. How does this relate to our "Rolls Royce"
designation regarding the Filter Queen? Simple, the Rolls Royce does not offer
the same technological refinement as does a Mercedes - the Miele is the Mercedes

The Filter Queen Majestic vacuum is powerful, durable and, with airtight seals
in place, contains tiny particulate very well. With the insertion of a Captiva
filter, the machine filters a tad beyond Hepa level. It uses cyclonic action to
maintain airflow and a full range of accessories store on a top storage rack. A
Filter Queen does not use bags; rather, it utilizes a unique, patented filter
cone system. It is a great vacuum; however, we reiterate that, today, we
believe a Miele to be a better choice - the Miele is considerably easier to
use, is quieter, moves better, stores better, will readily stand on stairs
(stairs are always an awkward place to clean), uses a much cleaner process when
emptying, has a much better power nozzle, has an effortless-to-use telescopic
wand, etc.
